Day 01 – Nainital

Arrive Delhi. Drive to Nainital
Welcome to Delhi, and be ready for a wonderful journey to “Uttarakhand”. At Delhi Airport or Railway station our Driver will meet you and drive you to Nainital by road.
Nainital, the charming Himalayan Lake town, is a picture-postcard perfect hill-station. Commonly known as the ‘Lake District’, Nainital is nestled high up in the Kumaon Himalayas at an altitude of around 2,000 m above sea level. This beautiful town in surrounded by seven hills, popularly known as ‘Sapta-Shring’ – Ayarpata, Deopata, Handi-Bandi, Naina, Alma, Lariya-Kanta and Sher-Ka-Danda. The majestic mountains and the sparkling waters of the lake add an immense lot to the beauty of the town. The town is centred around the emerald mountain lake Naini, which on most days is dotted with colourful sailboats. According to mythology, the lake is believed to have been formed when the eyes of goddess “Sati” fell at this spot while her body was being carried by Lord Shiva after her death.

After breakfast visit Bhimtal, another lake town adjoining the popular hill-station Nainital, is an idyllic vacation spot. In monsoon, the lake fills up to the brim and makes for a beautiful picture set against the green hills. Dotted with pretty houses along the slopes, Bhimtal is perfect for a serene holiday. In winters, Bhimtal becomes a bird-watchers paradise, with the arrival of migratory birds.
Legends say that Bhima, one of the Pandava princes from Mahabharata, created the picturesque lake and hence, its name. Historians believe that Bhimtal was used as a stoppage en route to Nepal and Tibet from India and may have been a part of the ancient silk route. The town is also home to several educational institution.
Later back to Nainital. Rest day is free to explore the area around Naini lake. Situated in the centre of Nainital, the lake is in crescent or kidney shape and is one of the most famous lakes of the Kumaon region. Bounded by Naini Peak on North West, Tiffin Point on the South West and snow-capped peaks on the north, the Nainital Lake offers a breathtaking view, especially during early morning and sunset.

Later back to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

After breakfast drive to Kausani by Road, Kausani a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic views of beautiful peaks of Himalayas like Nanda Devi and Panchachuli. Kausani lies atop a ridge at an altitude of around 1890 m amidst dense pine trees overlooking Someshwar valley on one side and Garur and Baijnath Katyuri valley on the other. The town is very peaceful and one can enjoy the beautiful view of the Himalayas from almost any part of the Town.

After breakfast, ready for Kasauni sightseeing. Visit Baijnath temple, Tea Plantation. Located on the banks of Gomti River, in the ancient town of Baijnath, this is a series of small and big temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. The sacred shrine depicts the early medieval north Indian temple architecture with beautiful sculptures and carvings typical of the golden era and is thronged by devotees around the year.
Baijnath was the ancient capital of the Katyuri rulers who reigned over Uttaranchal during the 12th century. The town holds religious significance too, as according to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvati were married at the Sangam of river Gomati and Garur Ganga. Later visit Tea Planation this famous tea garden sits at an altitude of 1,890 m, spread across 208 acres of area and is a perfect heaven for tea lovers. The organic tea produced here is savored by locals and tourists.

Later back to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to Ranikhet. Ranikhet is blessed with some of the best scenic vistas and natural beauty. Ranikhet means “Queens Land” is a beautiful hill station offers a breath-taking view of the mighty Himalayas and has an incredibly peaceful environment. Upon arrival check in at hotel. Rest day is at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

After breakfast drive to Corbett by Road. Corbett National Park A promising land for the world species at Ramnagar. Established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett has the glory of being India’s oldest and most prestigious National Park. It is also being honored as the place where Project Tiger was first launched in 1973. Spans over an extent of 520 square kilometers, its whole area comprises of hills, marshy depressions, riverine belts, grasslands and large lake. It is among the few tiger reserves in India that allows overnight stays in the lap of the National Park. Nature watch and wildlife viewing in the park is done in an open four-wheeler Jeep and on elephant back. Sheltering a healthy population of tigers and rare species like Otters and the endemic fish-eating crocodile, the national park is one of the most sought-after destinations for the wildlife buffs.
